March 2026 Core Update Response¶
Status: Complete (sprint-based response finished) Project: SEO
What this is¶
Google pushed a Core Update in March 2026 that shifted rankings for personal injury law searches. The firm's response was a two-part effort: investigate the damage + identify on-site technical gaps, then run a rapid sprint execution to close the biggest ones.
The response¶
SEO Rankings Investigation: March 2026 Core Update + On-Site Technical Gaps — investigation phase. Mapped which pages lost rankings, which gained, and correlated the losses with on-site technical issues (missing H1s, thin content, schema gaps, redirect loops).
SEO Rapid Overhaul: Sprint 0 + Sprint 1 Execution (March 2-3, 2026) — execution phase. Sprint 0 set up the sprint system and identified quick wins. Sprint 1 executed those wins: rewrites, schema additions, redirect cleanup, internal linking.
What the investigation found¶
- Schema gaps on trucking pages (addressed later in Schema Fix System)
- Missing H1s on ~45 pages (addressed in Missing H1 Tag Fix Campaign)
- Redirect loops (addressed in Redirect Management)
- Thin content on some practice area sub-pages (addressed in Practice Area Rebuild)
The core update basically became the trigger for the rest of the site's structural and technical improvements. The ensuing mass batch deploys (see Mass Batch Deploys) were the direct response.
